Which World to Choose

I world love to live in the world of the video game Kirby. There are many different versions of Kirby, but I’m going to focus on Kirby Star Allies. I have completed this game and it was very fun to play. The first reason I would like to live in this world is because of the friendship. In Kirby Star Allies, the whole game is based off of friendship. Kirby makes friends in this game and then makes them his allies (hence the title). This would be a great attribute for a place to live because of all the neighborly people around! The second reason I would like to live in this world is because of the heroes that live there. The main hero of the game is Kirby and he is saving Planet Pop-Star from an evil being. This makes me feel very comfortable living on this planet because of the safety that Kirby and his friends will provide me while I live there. The last reason I want to live in this world is because of the setting. The whole aspect of this world has a lot of fantasy involved. The beautiful trees and the long grass makes an ideal setting for a pretty easy game made for beginners. Even the bosses in the game have a lot of fantasy aspects and it just makes the game all the more fun to play. But as the game goes on, the setting gets more complex and the levels get harder and harder to pass. There are many different places in this game, there is an ice world, a water world, dream land (Kirby’s home), and much more. This world would make a perfect setting for me to live in.

My Dream Meal

I am a huge foodie. I absolutely love going to fine dining and trying new foods everywhere I go. Just the thought of my favorite meal makes my mouth water. First, my favorite drink is a Shirley Temple. Whenever I go out with my family for a special dinner, I love to cool off with the combination of fizzy sprite, sweet cherry grenadine, and the perfect maraschino cherry on top. Now, my favorite appetizer is a Cesar salad. I really enjoy Cesar salad because it tastes fresh and the texture of the crunchy lettuce and croutons makes a wonder dish to start off your dining experience. Another one of my favorite appetizers is soup. I really love soup! I love tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, clam chowder, baked potato soup, and many more. Next, the main course. My favorite main course is pasta. I love pasta! I will pretty much eat any pasta in any shape or form in any sauce. My favorite sauces include a vodka sauce, a creamy tomato sauce (a tomato sauce with cream or Alfredo sauce mixed in) , and Alfredo sauce. Here’s something that you should know about me, whenever I go out to a fancy restaurant with my family, we order way too many sides. It is crazy the amount of food that can fit on a table and I bet that my family has tested that limit! Some of my favorite sides include lobster macaroni and cheese, twice baked potatoes, scalloped potatoes, and French fries. After me and my family are stuffed, we always order desert. I am not a huge fan of desert, but when it is really good, it is very enjoyable. I really like crème brûlée. I love the way the smooth cream rolls on my younger, and the way the crunchy brûlée sugar sticks to my teeth. My favorite part of the experience is cracking it! It is oh so fun to hear that crack on your favorite desert! As you can see, my meal is very complicated but also very delicious. I hope I have inspired you to try something new next time you go to out to dinner. And who knows, maybe you will find you’re new favorite dish!

Rad Reading – September

This month, I read The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. This book is about two girls who live in a small town called Gavaldon. This town states that they have a curse. Each year on the eleventh night of the eleventh month, the School Master kidnaps two children, one good the other evil. No one knows where they go or why, all they know is that families are separated, and their futures in Gavaldon are finished. The two main characters, Sophie and Agatha, are polar opposites. People say that they’ll be the two that the school master takes this year. Sophie loves big pink dresses, looking beautiful every day, and doing good deeds, and she has dreamed of being taken to her enchanted world for her whole life. Agatha however, only wears black, lives in the cemetery, and has a dislike for nearly everyone; she seems like a natural fit for evil. Sophie wanted the School Master to take her while Agatha wanted to stay in the little town. That very night the two get kidnapped by the School Master and then realize where all those kidnapped children have been taken, The School for Good and Evil. This is where ordinary boys and girls train to be fairy-tale heroes and villains. But when the two reach the school, they find that their futures have been reversed. They soon realize that the best way out of their fairy-tale, is just to live through it.

The reason why I recommend reading this book is because it is about finding out who you really are. Each character has their own struggles, and throughout the book they find their own confidence to be their own people. It really helps to show the reader perspective about possible struggles that other people are going through, as well as helping to show that it is important to embrace yourself and who you really are. It also helps the reader see that even though people might be different, there is no reason why they can’t be friends with each other. I also recommend this book because it talks a lot about friendship. It teaches the reader that it doesn’t matter if your’e good or evil, you will always need friends to help you succeed in your journey.

My favorite character in the book is Agatha. Throughout the book her character really grows and we get a new point of view about her. She is so kind to Sophie and will do anything to make sure that she succeeds. She even risks her own identity to others just to make sure that Sophie is happy. She also has a lot of compassion for others. She won’t judge people for their past and feels compassion toward their struggles. I know this because the text states, “Looking down at the monster, just another lost child, Agatha thought of all the creatures in this world. … She too was one of these animals now, searching for the way out. …’I wish I could help you,’ she said”(138-139). This shows just how much compassion she has for each and every living being. She doesn’t care if they’re ugly or not, if they have a reputation of being mean and scary, all she cares about is the fact that she could feel their sadness and understand the pain that they have been going through for such a long time.

My favorite quote from the book is, “‘I don’t look in mirrors.’ … ‘Look in the mirror, Agatha’, Professor Dovey said calmly. … ‘If you look in the mirror, you may leave.’ … ‘Make it go away,’ she pleaded, hiding her face. … ‘I can’t.’ … ‘Because I’m ugly!’ … ‘And what if you were beautiful?’ … ‘I’d be happy’” (374-375). In this quote Agatha is having a conversation with one of her professors, Professor Dovey, after she was the only one in her class who got 100% or even passed a test. This quote really shows how everyone can struggle with the same things. Agatha definitely isn’t the only girl who worries about beauty, most girls do! Agatha is someone who is very much her own person. She is very independent and stands up for what she thinks is right. To see someone like that feel this way is crazy when you get to understand her character. It really shows how people are just people even when they seem different.

My Dream House

I would love to have the opportunity to design my own home. I would love my house to be on a beach or having a view of a beach. My house would have two stories and would be painted white with black trim. I would have a black roof with solar panels on it so that I can protect the environment. I would have the walls painted white and have hints of blues and other beach tones as accents around the house. I would have built in lighting throughout my home as well as a big white couch in my family room with a television. I would have a living room with high ceilings and a coffee table for chatting with friends when they come over. I would have a large kitchen with an island that has quarts countertops. I would have floor to ceiling white cabinets all around with gold handles. On the island, the cabinets will be more grey to act as an accent in the room. I would have lots of counter space in my kitchen as well as a large sink. I would also have different appliances such as a fridge, an oven, a vent, and a dishwasher. I would also have a large dining room and dining table for dinner and dinner parties. I would have a guest bathroom for guests when they come over as well. I would have a Jack and Jill styled bedroom and bathroom for my kids (if I’m lucky enough to have any) and a guest room with a bathroom for the guests. The master bedroom would have a king sized bed and a little seating area. The master bathroom would have a large bathtub as well as a walk in shower. Then I would have two sinks for me and my partner to get ready in the morning together. As you can see my dream home is very big and most likely very expensive. However, I would still be happy being able to buy my own house and make it my own with little things that are special to me. That is what truly matters and what I will also be happy with calling home.

Where to Go

If I could travel to anywhere in the world I would travel to India. The first reason I want to travel there is because I have family there. Because they live so far away, I hardly get to see them. That is why I cherish the time I get to spend with them. The second reason I want to go to India is because of all the beautiful scenery. India is known for magical sights like the Himalayan Mountains and the Taj Mahal. They have many big cities and small towns all the same. I would love to have a chance to see all of this beauty that our world provides for us! The last reason I would love to go to India would be because of the amazing culture. Culture isn’t only about religion, it can also be about what they do in their daily lives that might be different for us in a different country. India has a wonderful variety of food that make my hungry just thinking about! They also have many activities that you might not commonly see here in the states. Some of the most popular ones include elephant rides and entrancing king cobras. As you can see, India is a magical place that I would love to go visit. Maybe now you might want to go too!

An Introduction

Hi, my name is Neera. Welcome to my blog! Allow me to introduce myself. I am a 7th grader at a middle school in Tustin. My family is very close. I love to cook and bake with them and also enjoy watching food shows together. I adore traveling with my family as well. Some of my favorite vacations include going to Alaska and Mexico. Me and my sister both play soccer and don’t get much downtime. With all the practices and games, we don’t get as much time to relax a home than some other families do. Even though I don’t have a lot of time to hang out with my family during the week, I still enjoy doing all of the small things together that still bring a great time!
